Introduction:
The goal of this Lab was to familiarize myself with some overlay, generalization, and extraction tools integral to GIS while building a habitat model for black bears in an area of interest which focused in Marquette County, MI. Ultimately, I intend on importing x,y data to the GIS, determine if bears can be found near streams, figure a suitable habitat for bear management and provide a cartographically pleasing map to showcase my effort. I will also develop a data flow model to document my methodology.
